Our Story

GETTING HERE

We have the entire week off prior to the wedding and would love to see our out of town guests in the days leading up to the event! Please let us know if you'll be around.   For those coming from out of town, the closest airports are Boston Logan or Providence. From the airport or Boston city, it is about an hour long taxi ride to Nantaskt/Cohasset. Ubers and Lyfts are plentiful, but it is a bit of a maze to find the rideshare area at Logan, so follow signs carefully. Regular yellow taxis are also available and are sometimes a shorter wait! If you’d prefer to use transit, you can take the Commuter Rail from South station to Cohasset. Once in Cohasset, you will still need to arrange a shorter taxi or other ride to Red Lion Inn.  We do plan to offer a shuttle from the Nantasket hotel block to the venue on wedding day! Please RSVP if you hope to take advantage of this.

We will offer a shuttle to and from this hotel, just 10 minutes away from the venue. RECOMMENDATIONS

This is the off season on the South Shore, but there are still a number of local businesses to explore in Nantasket and Cohasset! If you’re here longer and want to explore Boston, there are tons of historic and cultural places to go. We can recommend the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, the Freedom Trail and exploring Little Italy in the North End (dress warm!), the Aquarium, or Harvard Square. If you do hope to explore the area, it may make sense to rent a car. Please get in touch if you need help with transit overall, as we want the hotel and wedding events to be accessible!

Hotel + Travel

Melanie and Eric matched on Bumble on New Year's Day, 2020. After 6 days of texting, they met for dinner at Brighton Bodega on a Monday night!Eric left the first date thinking they didn't have many cultural touchstones in common. Melanie left thinking "this guy is like the same person as me!"Their second date started at the Watertown Target, and ended at the Harvard stadium where they shared their first kiss.A few months of ice cream, arcades, driving around, singing, and cooking for each other led to Eric and Melanie locking it down just before lockdown, labelling themselves boyfriend/girlfriend on March 1st, 2020.....They were lucky enough to get all the time in the world to spend together, as schools, choirs, and everything else shut down just a few weeks later. Eric and Mel spent the pandemic shutdown experimenting with baking, doing yoga, picnicking, watching tv, and falling in love.As the world opened back up, Eric and Mel got to do all the things they'd loved together now, as the power couple in vocal ensembles and theater productions. They even directed a show together in May 2023!Eric and Mel moved in together to their spacious Brighton apartment in fall 2022, and they are still there!Mel foisted her travel bug upon Eric which led to them visiting Iceland together, and later British Columbia, Patagonia, China, Mongolia, and of course, their epic trip around the Mediterranean, starting in Istanbul where Eric proposed!In fall 2024, Melanie and Eric adopted their two kittens, Baguette and Ciabatta, who are now their evening entertainment.After 6 years of MelEric, here's where you come in! Join Melanie and Eric for their grandest adventure yet, this February in Cohasset, and help them celebrate their commitment and love &lt;3

Melanie and Olivia joined all the same choirs in fall 2018, and their choir sisterhood has stood the test of time. Between girls nights, socially distanced covid hangs, and countless silly puns, they have shared endless laughter, beautiful music and plenty of drinks. They couldn't be more excited to be 2026 brides together!

Austin has been Eric's brother since being Eric's brother was a thing. He's a pretty great guy and an even better brother.

Melanie and Logan met during their Vassar days, and have been making music around the globe, inside-joking, and staying up far too late together ever since!

Dave and Eric have been buddies since 5th grade at Friend's School Baltimore. Over the years they've played countless songs, shared a million good times, and made a lot of jokes that definitely no one else is allowed to hear.

Eric and Mel collaborated with master storyteller Diane for their walking choral experience in May 2024. They can't think of anyone better to bring their wedding ceremony to life!
